The Perry Conservation District is a dedicated subdivision of state government established under Act 217. Our mission is to provide leadership and support for the conservation and management of local natural resources, ensuring a sustainable future for Perry County.

We operate in close partnership with County Government. Our Board of Directors is appointed by the County Commissioners, and our staff members are County employees. Funding is primarily sourced from the County, the State Conservation Commission, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Community and Economic Development, the Department of Agriculture, as well as various grants and fees.

The District is governed by a seven-member board of volunteer directors who meet monthly to plan and oversee local conservation efforts. To achieve our goals, we collaborate with staff and numerous partner agencies, including the USDA Farm Service Agency, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Penn State Cooperative Extension, PA Game Commission, PA Fish and Boat Commission, and the PA Bureau of Forestry, among others.

Together, we strive to protect and enhance Perry County’s natural resources for generations to come.
